Installation and Maintenance of Roller Guide Rails

Installation and Maintenance of Roller Guide Rails

Roller guides are a type of linear motion system widely used in mechanical equipment, playing a vital role in various fields. Compared with ball linear guides, roller linear guides have higher load capacity and higher rigidity. In order to ensure its long-term stable performance, correct installation and regular maintenance are particularly important.
The installation and maintenance methods of roller series guide sliders are as follows:

1. Preparation Before Installation

  • Check whether the guide rail has a certificate of conformity and whether there is any bruise or rust.
  • Clean the anti-rust oil and remove burrs, impact protrusions and dirt on the assembly surface.
  • Check whether the bolt holes at the assembly connection parts match. If misalignment occurs and the bolts are forced in, the running accuracy will be reduced.

2. Roller Guide Rails Installation Steps

  • Place the guide rail reference surface close to the side base surface of the machine tool assembly surface, align the screw holes, and gently fix the guide rail with bolts.
  • Tighten the top tightening device on the side of the guide rail so that the guide rail reference side is tightly against the side of the bed.
  • Tighten the installation screws of the roller guide rails with a torque wrench; start from the middle and tighten in a cross order to both ends.

3. Slider Seat Installation Steps

  • Place the workbench on the plane of the slider seat, align the mounting screw holes, and gently press.
  • Tighten the clamping device on the side of the slider seat on the reference side so that the reference side of the slider seat is tightly against the side base surface of the workbench.
  • Tighten the screws on the slider seats on the reference side and non-reference side in diagonal order.

After installation, check whether the roller guide rails run lightly and flexibly within the full stroke, and whether there is any stagnation or blockage; the friction resistance should not change significantly within the full stroke. After meeting the above requirements, check whether the running straightness and parallelism of the workbench meet the requirements.

Summary

Through correct installation and regular maintenance, the service life of the roller guide rails can be extended and its performance in various applications can be ensured to be stable.
